On June 4, 2001 Sting, a magnificent musician and composer, singer and actor visited Moscow. Earlier in the day, before the concert, Maria showed him Red Square and Alexander’s Garden.
“We were very lucky with the weather” - Maria said. “These days, the 4-th and 5-th of June, the weather was wonderful and Moscow was especially beautiful. The sun was shining bright and the sky was clear. As if it has been ordered!”
One hour before the concert Maria met her friends Heidy Hollinger, Igor Bautman and Igor’s wife Oxana at the concert, and introduced them to Sting. “We went to Olimpiyski hall’s backstage. My friend Kriss Botty, Sting’s trumpet-player gave us tickets and lead us to the singer. We were the only people talking with Sting before his concert. Sting was satisfied with the enthusiastic welcome received in Moscow and liked the city very much. He found that during the last five years Moscow had changed for the better and become more beautiful.
The show was a success. Olimpiysky hall almost went to pieces. I cant remember so many people at this place in a long time. The singer exulted in his triumph.
After the concert Maria and her friends were invited to a party held at the Balchug-Kempinsky hotel where they chatted with Sting and his musicians.
